Hi there and WELCOME to my little place on the Web.

I decided it was time for me to expose myself a little and here I am writing about my life for anyone in the world to read.  I guess I am really exposing myself alot but hey gotta have fun some how.

A little about me:

Born: January 28
Married: July 6th Just kidding my husband and I rarely disagree much less fight.
Where: The
Who: Miles If you know my husband you will recognize this little dance
Kids: Nope, but we have two who we treat just like our kids.  Just ask our families and the Vet.  They are SPOILED ROTTEN !!
Work:   Quite possibly the best place in the world to work.  I LOVE IT.

I was reading what I had written and before you proceed let me say I may sound like I have an awful life but I don't.  I wake up each morning smiling ,  Miles and I face everything together, I LOVE my job, my family and my life .  Nothing that goes wrong in my life is worth hating each new day and I hope that you feel the same.

Hope that these links give you a new perspective on your issues and always remember some where their is someone who is going through a similar situation and they are looking for you.

Well there are two things that have greatly impacted my life and I want to share my experiences and point others to the places that have offered me a understanding and support.

Infertility, boy is that a tough one to admit and deal with.  I have a condition known as Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease or Syndrome (PCOD/PCOS) depending on who you talk to.  This condition prevents a woman from ovulating on a normal basis if at all resulting in infertility,  excess weight gain, excess body hair, and increases risks of heart attack and diabetes.

Science has not yet discovered the cause, so of course there are no treatments at this time.  We are subjected to tests and sometimes humiliating procedures struggling to achieve a dream everyone takes for granted.

Science has found a link to PCOS and high Insulin levels so some are trying diabetic drug treatments and low carbohydrate diets with mixed results but it appears to be a step in the right direction.

The best thing that ever happened to me was finding the following support pages:

INCIID's Waiting Room a place to meet with other families who are having problems with conception and INCIID's Endometriosis & PCO Bulletin Board: Chat where you can leave messages for the Doctor and actually receive answers.

PCOSupport: The Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Association the first page I found to help me sort through my heart ache.  The discussion board is broken but you will find a wealth of information.

Kjenn's PCOS Korner Many of us have come to feel Kjenn is our protector and chief researcher.  She has tons of need to know information so check it out.

Leukemia and Cancer.  In the last five months my family has had to deal with both Leukemia and Cancer.  My husbands Grandmother was diagnosed with Leukemia in November and began treatments at Stanford University Medical Center the day after Thanksgiving.  I have NEVER felt more helpless than I did seeing this wonderful woman in such pain and despair,  with PCOS at least I can take control of my life easing the helplessness I feel.  June's despair is something I can not control but I pray every day for a miracle cure.

After researching on the NET I found some great resources:

LEUKEMIA (The Online Support Group And Mailing List For Leukemia)

Leukemia Society of America

We heard that my Uncle has lung cancer about a week ago.  He has smoked for 30 years and today (2/17/98) he will lose half his lung.  Hopefully the Doctors will find everything and he will have another good 20 years or more to harass us all.

Here are some pages about Cancer.
